Note: IE 5.5 or earlier versions of IE browser does not support <acronym> tag.

Definition and Usage

HTML5 is not supported <acronym> tag. Please use <abbr> tag instead.

<Acronym> tag defines acronyms.

As a word abbreviation can be read, for example NATO, NASA, ASAP, GUI.

Marked by abbreviation, you can browser, spell checking and search engines to provide useful information.

Tips and Notes

Tip: title attribute can be used to the full version when you move the mouse pointer to the element exhibited abbreviated.

Differences between HTML 4.01 and HTML5

HTML5 is not supported <acronym> tag, but supported in HTML 4.01.
